Weston Elliott

Here I have been jabbering my brains out trying to up my word count by 15,ooo words to get this latest manuscript to novel length! I am not blessed with Tolkien's wordiness, darn it all.

Now, last night, I get an email telling me that I have to have something else ready for my pitch session in April - a one page synopsis!

AAAAAHH! First it's not enough, now it's way too much! Which do I work on now? Adding 15,000 or subtracting 45,000!?

Oh, help me.

hang in there! LOL! Synopsis are the devil... but hang in there! LOL! I'm rereading my last book and trying to find places to add more, not to up my word count, but to give her more of a normal life! LOL! So far, not so good! Of course I haven't been praying before I write, so that's probably my problem! good luck! Jenni

  2. I hate synopsis too, but you know that. I am working on adding words to mine as well. I hit just under 70,000 as I finished it and have had to go back in and add chapters so I could feel good about it. It has taken me weeks to come up with decent scenes that tied in and added depth. Good luck!

When I got that email, I smacked my forehead, too. I am dreading it, but also kind of looking forward to being forced to have something like that ready.

I'm like you. I always need to add words. I'm constantly writing bones and then forcing myself to add flesh. Sigh. Good luck.
